Unconventional film festival introduced with a unique communication language.
T-Mobile New Horizons International Film Festival celebrates visionary filmmakers who challenge cinematic conventions.
To advertise the festival, I used a unique analogue animation technique, utilising the festival logo’s black lines to create captivating optical illusions. Breaking stereotypes of iconic movie scenes, I crafted engaging stories within a six-frame looped animation, print ads with interactive film strips, and matchboxes adorned with animated movie scenes. A mobile app and website allowed users to create their own animations. The innovative T-Mobile adverts, praised by filmmaker Joshua Oppenheimer, were showcased before screenings.
I oversaw the creative idea, animation, storytelling, art direction, and film direction for this project.
