Awards – KTR (Polish Ad Festival)
T-Mobile New Horizons International Film Festival is a festival for film visionaries, uncompromising artists who have the courage to follow path of their choice against the current trends and talk about the most important things with their own unique language. This is a festival of films that go beyond the boundaries of conventional cinema.
I created a language of communication, which refers to the idea of the festival and its branding, informs about the festival in an unusual way and invites to participate in the event.
New Horizons Festival logo is made of black lines, on which basis I created an analog animation which actually is an optical illusion. Although the way of creating this animation is based on six frames looped, I was able to tell interesting stories breaking down stereotypes about the iconic movie scenes. Then I filmed the animation not using postproduction.
I designed as well print ads which you could animate by yourself thanks to the added film, printed in black stripes. During the festival you could be gifted with box of matches with animated movie scene on it.
Additionaly you could create yourself a short animation based on the same rules with mobile application and on the website.
“New Horizons is sponsored by T-Mobile, and while their branding is always very present in festival literature and screenings, it has been rolled out in a very non-egregious and — dare I say it — pleasingly innovative manner. The animated T-Mobile adverts which play before the screenings are even better than the main festival indent.”
During the project I was responsible for the creative idea, animation, stories, illustrations, direction and art direction.
